A colourless, flavourless prebiotic fibre derived from the seeds of the guar plant. This powder dissolves in water and has shown to be well tolerated in individuals with bowel symptoms, including IBS and SIBO.

Clinically, PHGG is used as:
– A bulking agent and prebiotic to help balance faecal movements – both constipation and diarrhoea
– A prebiotic food source to increase Bifidobacterium and other SCFA producing bacteria
– A dietary fibre to increase satiety

Please note that the fibre tends to settle in the tin due to its lighter volume. Please shake the tin well before opening, to aerate product.

PHGG is normally well tolerated, but if you have a sensitive stomach, start with half a dose and build up gradually to the full dosage.

PHGG has been consumed by pregnant and lactating women for years, and it has been shown to be a safe way to improve regularity and reduce cramping and bloating. As with any supplement, however, please consult with your health care practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Saccharomyces boulardii is a non-pathogenic yeast with probiotic activity.  It is most studied for its efficiency in the prevention of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea.

S. boulardii may protect the gastrointestinal mucosa, which is essential to trap bacteria and protect the gut walls, making it the immune system's ‘first line of defence’ against gut issues.  Without it, the risk of inflammation and infection increases.

S. boulardii aids in the production of secretory IgA (SIgA), an antibody that protects against sensitivities such as food intolerances, IBS and gut permeability.

This probiotic may also interfere with cellular signalling pathways common in many inflammatory conditions.

Directions

A soluble prebiotic fibre targeted towards increasing Bifidobacterium and lactobacilli, and thus, the overall composition of the gut microbiome.

Increasing Bifidobacterium and lactobacilli may:

• Have immunomodulatory effects, increasing SIgA
• Help reduce risk of allergy development in infants
• Increase mineral absorption, especially iron, calcium and magnesium
• Increase SCFA production and protect the epithelial cells of the gut
• Regulate stool consistency, bloating and flatulence

Directions

Mix 2g (0.5tsp) daily into 200ml of water or other beverage of choice. Stir and take with or without food.

If new to taking this product, it is advisable to start with 1g dosage and slowly increase to 2g dosage to prevent abdominal discomfort.

Motility Complex with Ginger + Artichoke contains a combination of both whole powdered ginger and ginger root extract, together with artichoke leaf extract and N-acetyl-l-carnitine, with the aim of promoting gut motility.

Botanicals such as ginger and artichoke may help to stimulate the Migrating Motor Complex (MMC) function. The MMC is a pattern of smooth muscle contractions that start in the stomach and move through the intestines. Deficient activity of the MMC is considered to be a key underlying cause of SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) and constipation.
